A few weeks after its release, the soundtrack was removed from the sales. Indeed, a complaint was recorded by Corsican band Régina & Bruno Baccara who said Goran Bregović had reused the theme of their song Solenzara for in the deathcar. Refusing to credit the groupe, the CD was unfindable for a long time, thus becoming a rarity. The conflict was finally resolved in 2002 by adding an extra credit line on the CD sleeve, as well as a bonus song : American Dreamers Old Home Movie (by Johnny Depp).
Note :
- the exceptional presence of Iggy Pop on four tracks (In the deathcar, TV screen, Get the money, This is a film). Thanks to the friendship that Johnny Depp already had with him, Emir Kusturica could meet him in the USA, and convinced him to participate to his film.
- Emir Kusturica wrote the lyrics of the song this is a film.
