Before the new year, let's recall the events we're expecting, starting beginning of january :

Meanwhile, the DVD of Promise me this is already released in the Balkans and in Russia (but without subtitles).

Finally, let's mention the release of Taraf de Haïdouks's new album (Maskarada) : the romanian band takes “classcal” melodies on their own crazy way, and gives us new compositions too : always so surprising !

Emir Kusturica has announced during a press conference that he's creating a cinema festival in Küstendorf. The first edition of this festival will take place from 14 to 21 january 2008, in the Underground theatre of the village. He has also announced that it would be a festival without red carpet (even thought some big directors such as Nikita Mikhalkov and Fatih Akin are invited). The winner shall receive a “Golden egg”… (note the “biorevolutionary” juice bottles on the table of the press conference…)

Erratum. Le No Smoking Orchestra concert in Barcelone will take place on 23 january (and not 23 december as said before). Also, the concert in Madrid is rescheduled on 27 january. Here are the dates of the next concerts :

Serbia is honoured in Paris during the month of december. Among the different cultural activities, let's notice the exhibition on Küstendorf, from 14 to 17 december

The release of the filmscore of Promise me this is announced for 7 january 2008 in France. Let's note this album is released under the band name of “Stribor Kusturica And The Poisonners”. The album can already be preordered on amazon.fr. More details soon.

The DVD of the Opera "Time of the Gypsies" is rescheduled at march 2008, in order to match the new sessions of the opera at the Palais des congrès in Paris.

The tour of the No Smoking Orchestra continues ! Here are the dates of the next concerts :

After a triumph at the Opéra Bastille last summer, Emir Kusturica's punk opera Time of the Gypsies, will be played again at the Palais des Congrès of Paris for 10 extra shows, from 22 to 30 march 2008. Let's mention also the recent release of a beautiful book in English : Vojo Stanić - Sailing on Dreams, co-written by Emir Kusturica, on the montenegrin painter author of the cover of Unza Unza Time.

The Serbian government appointed Emir Kusturica on Monday (October 15th) as the chairman of the board of directors of Film Centre Serbia.

Works continue in Küstendorf : after the ski tracks and the sport hall, it's also a bank, an hotel and a … jail that have recently been built. Many new pictures were added onto the site page.

From 26th october to 4th november, Montpellier will be the capital of mediterranean cinema with the 29th edition of the festival international du Cinéma Méditerranéen (“cinemed”). Emir Kusturica will be present with his new film Promise me this, which will make the opening of the festival. The winners will be announced on saterday 3rd november at 18h30. Emir Kusturica has recently declared he was confident for the presentation of his film Maradona at the next Berlin film festival (7 to 12 february 2008).

Emir Kusturica and the No Smoking Orchestra are back on tour ! The group is in good shape and, and has already put fire to the theatres of Moscow, saint-Petersbourg and Antalya. Here are the next dates of the tour :
