Slovenia declared its independance on 25 june 1991.
Slovenia has officially joined European Union on 1st may 2004. It is the richest and the most “western” of the republics of ex-Yugoslavia.
Do not confuse the Slovenes and the Slovaks… Slovakia and Slovenia are often confused even though they don't even share a border. Every year, an incredible amount of badly written letters has to be transfered (600Kg in 2004)…
